I liked the record so much I played it for my friends and they all agreed that it was great. So I started forming a plan to put it out on actionpop!. Of course I can't get the permission of the band because I don't know who they are and the whole thing would be pretty illegal. But I thought long and hard about the moral arguments on either side and, the way I see it, as long as I sell it for exactly the production costs and don't make any money off it at all, and as long as I put some kind of disclaimer on the sleeve saying something like "This record is put out without the artist's permission. If you know anything about this band, please get in touch with us." things should be fine. And I can't imagine the Endless Upteens springing up and sueing me. They sound far too cool for that. I'd like to think that they'd be happy about it all and enjoy the strange and mysterious circumstances that led to the release of their recording on a highly obscure record label in Exeter, England. Or maybe I'll go to prison. It's a risk I think I'm willing to take.
So that's the story as it stands. Ideally, you will hear the record and like it so much that you play it for your friends and make
copies for people and more bizarre things can happen. You can order the record by e-mailing me at hughjnoble@hotmail.com.
Of course if you have any information about the Endless Upteens, please get in touch. Also, many thanks to Steve for introducing me to the band. Thanks Steve!
